Staying active during pregnancy is an important part of maintaining your health and well-being. Not only does physical activity help to keep you fit, but it can also help to reduce stress and promote a healthy delivery. However, it’s important to make sure that you’re exercising safely during pregnancy. Here are some tips for staying active and healthy while pregnant.

First, as always, talk to your doctor. Before you start any kind of physical activity, it’s important to check with your doctor to make sure that it’s safe for you and your baby. Some activities may be off-limits during certain stages of pregnancy, so make sure to get the green light before you start. For most, contact sports and those which require balance should be avoided.

Second, start slowly, especially if you don't exercise regularly already. You don’t need to jump into an intense workout routine. Instead, start with low-impact activities like swimming, brisk walking, yoga, or stretching. These activities can help to prepare your body for more strenuous exercise after baby. Each of us Foreverly Mamas enjoyed different types of exercises during our pregnancies - from walking, Spin Cycling, to low impact aerobics. Find what you enjoy and you're more likely to keep it up.

Third, listen to your body. As your pregnancy progresses, you may find that certain activities become more difficult. Don’t push yourself too hard. If you’re feeling tired or uncomfortable, take a break and rest.

Fourth, stay hydrated. It’s important to drink plenty of water before, during, and after exercise. This will help to keep your energy levels up and keep your body cool.

Finally, set realistic goals. It’s important to set realistic goals for yourself and to keep your expectations in check. Remember that your body is going through a lot of changes and it’s important to take time to rest.

Staying active during pregnancy is an important part of maintaining your health and well-being. With a bit of planning and dedication, you can stay in shape and have a healthy, comfortable pregnancy.
